Love this sushi restaurant. Excellent quality, fair price, great service. I actually appreciate the unique bathroom experience making the most of an old building.
I'm gonna give it 5 stars because they have absolutely delicious and on point sushi - especially the rolls. Attention to detail, good presentation, fresh, generous portions and decent prices. The only complaint? Its slow service. However, I think they know this and are advertising for more staff. Considering the circumstances, they're doing the best they can with what they have - don't come in if you're in a rush, come in when you have some time, order tea and soup and chat till you get your food!
Came here on our way to Rushing River. The rolls were delicious. The volcano roll was probably my favourite. Some of the rolls we ordered were torched which tasted really really good. The only negative: We also ordered the sunomomo salad but ended up sending it back. Sunomomo salad always has a very light vinagrette with sesame oil and rice vinegar and stuff (and we have tried a lot of sunomomo salads) but this one had a mayo-ie dressing even though it said on the menu that it had a vinagrette.
My girlfriend and I are big fans of sushi and decided to try 251 Sushi, the residence of Kenora recommended we should try it, and we did. At our discretion they said service is in fact slow, And it definitely was. We were seated and greeted right away, although once our order was taken we waited 45 minutes for only one roll. Another 10 minutes goes by and we received our scallops. Another 45 minutes goes and by we finally both got the rest of our food. Food is delicious, good presentation. The wait for our food was horendeous and the fact that it was 1:30 in the afternoon and was not very busy makes me appalled. As soon as PAYING customers were walking in the staff was complaining about people coming in, Giving THEM business. The reason I gave one star was because of the food quilty and presentation.
slow service, mediocre quality food (differs from regular take-out menu). Petty staff; tries to charge us extra for leaving literally one piece of sushi remaining after the all you can eat even though sushi orders only come in 6. Never experienced this type of treatment at any other sushi restaurant i have ever eaten at in Canada. Wont be going back. Go to Winnipeg if you want an adequate sushi experience.
