Good for Kenora , I guess. Pretty tame and same ol' same ol' landscape.
What a lovely place. Beautiful natural scenes of lakes and trees. Excellent place for hiking, natural trails. Really good for photography. 6 Km trail is awesome.
Great trail. Saw a few turtles (might have startled a snapper), pelicans, and crayfish. Nothing that spectacular, but the trail itself was enjoyable and relatively easy. My wife and I are in reasonable shape, but we did this trail easily while she was pregnant and I was two weeks out of minor surgery, if that helps you decide how hard the trail is. The trail is wide from the highway to the dam where it narrows a bit. It's well marked and groomed, allowing you to take in some decent views. Close to Kenora and easily accessible. If you're looking for a short, fairly easy hike in the Kenora area, this was a good one.
Our favorite spot near Kenora, for trail-runs with the dog! There are lots of ups and downs, and rocks and roots, so you need to stay "in the moment"! The 8km outside loop provides beautiful scenery, whether running or walking, and lots of places for the dog to have a drink or a swim.
The trails are marked a little bit! Either way bring your water bottle and take your garbage out with you. Lots of parking available. Dogydodo bags are available at the start. Please please use them... Very dog friendly...Dog beaches...if your dog is aggressive than leash it or muzzle it please
